Vanilla Lavender Black Iced Tea

I started with a beautiful organic Assam black tea base as I was channeling my Irish roots (I'm half Irish, half Ukrainian)...Assam is the base of Irish Breakfast and is malty rich, divine with milk, and soulfully satisfying. I think my Irish grandfather's kindhearted spirit then inspired me to find a lavender essential oil to blend with this rich vanilla extract that is new to my potion-lab, and when the lavender and vanilla united with the Assam, tea alchemy occurred--the scent was so transportive and intoxicating I felt like I was being guided back to the days of listening to Grandpa Ralph's Patsy Cline albums with him as he smoked his perfume pipe tobacco and told stories to us grandkids. 

This is the power of scent--it's a time capsule, a trans-dimensional magic carpet. I've never been able to recreate a scent that reminded me of the old world pipe tobaccos (and pipe smoking is so out of favor) but this incense of a blend is a sip that will turn your iced tea ritual into something transportive.
