The Beautifying Ingredients of Blueberry Lavender Moon

Beauties, our new Blue Moon Beauty Collection is truly a sight to behold and a taste to experience! Each tea has been lovingly crafted for over a year by Zhena herself, alchemized through loving intention and inspired by the many phases of the moon. The vision was to create beauty teas that were inspired by TRUE beauty, inner beauty. And what better way to enhance our inherent inner radiance than through nourishing herbs, flowers, and tea!

Our first tea in this exquisite collection, Blueberry Lavender Moon, features the reveal of a new tea type: Purple Tea! This blend alchemizes the luxurious Purple leaf tea with Organic Blueberry, Organic Lavender, Licorice Root, Butterfly Pea Flower, and Natural Blueberry Extract to create the most heavenly aroma and taste, in every cup.

Blueberry Lavender Moon is smooth tasting like an oolong, akin to our Ti Quan Yin Oolong, with its notes of ripe blueberry and fresh, wild lavender. The purple tea varietal we include is from Kenya, and is an incredible source of healing and purifying for skin, digestion, circulation, hair and nails. Purple tea was originally discovered in India and later taken to Kenya for cultivation. It’s a brand new discovery that is rare and has only been available for the last few years. Unique and utterly delicious, this blend is not to be missed!

Let’s explore more of Blueberry Lavender Moon’s beautifying ingredients:

Purple Leaf Tea

Purple tea is lighter than black tea but not quite as vegetal tasting as green tea. It is very high in anthocyanins, the beneficial antioxidant-rich flavonoids found in blueberries, eggplant, purple grapes and other blue, purple or dark red foods, giving them their color. Purple tea is low in caffeine (less than green tea, slightly more than white tea), sitting at around 20mg per cup. The anthocyanins in purple tea can also help lower inflammation and reduce free radicals, which cause oxidative stress and can damage our cells and result in illness and aging. Lowered inflammation in the body helps prevent disease, supports our skin and helps us stay youthful, healthy and glow from within. Purple tea also contains a very special and unique ingredient called GHG, which can help suppress weight gain, inhibit fat absorption and support metabolism and slimming!

Blueberries

Blueberries are also high in antioxidant flavonoids, and can help improve circulation, boost collagen production and lower inflammation throughout the body. They can also help slow the aging process, nourish our DNA, may prevent heart disease, enhance circulation, and can improve memory and cognitive function. Due to their high vitamin C content, blueberries can work to help prevent skin damage caused by environmental factors such as the sun, pollution, smoky air, etc. Vitamin C also helps improve the appearance of our skin, including diminishing fine lines and wrinkles.

Lavender

Lavender is a powerful soother, from calming feelings of worry or anxiety. Its anti-inflammatory properties and beneficial compounds can help boost our mood, supporting us to radiate and glow from within, and enhance our sleep quality for restfulness and vitality. It can also help heal wounds, itches, rashes and other skin irritations, as well as support greater collagen production and enhance our skin’s overall health.

Butterfly Pea Flower

Butterfly Pea Flower is high in antioxidants and polyphenols, chemical compounds that work against glycation, a process causing impairment in cellular and tissue function, including our skin. These properties help keep our skin looking firm, youthful, and radiant. Butterfly Pea Flower is also full of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, which can stave off skin damage from the sun, preventing premature aging and fighting free radicals, which also support hair growth and nail health. This blue herb is a beautifier, through and through, brightening our appearance, boosting collagen production, lessening wrinkles, and amplifying our overall health and vitality.

Licorice Root

Licorice contains a compound called glycyrrhizin, which is anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and antioxidant-rich. Licorice can also help cleanse our oral health, respiratory system, and nourish our digestion. It naturally brightens the appearance of dark spots on the skin and can help prevent hyperpigmentation and UV damage, evens out our overall skin tone, and boosts luminosity from within.
